Only problem I see if your'e running stock Vortec heads thats too much lift, otherwise very computer friendly. Expensive rascal too, might look at some of the OEM GM grinds, they are surprisingly cheap.
Should have mentioned, its a .020 over 400 small block/aftermarket heads (non vortec) 10:1 a little porting to a 1206.
How do the l31 cams do in (non roller) blocks? I have a decent timing cover, but can upgrade.
It actually looks like one will fit measuring a used one.
An L31 hot cam, maybe?

If you require a CKP signal, there are billet timing covers that hold the CKP sensors, they are $300 though. L31 in a 400 will have great off idle low rpm torque, but wont make power 191°/196° 0.412"/0.428" on a 111°LSA.
The LT4 Hotcam has 218°/228° duration at 0.050" and lift of 0.492"/0.492 with 1.5 rockers or 0.525"/0.525" on a 112°lsa. Anything over 0.480" lift requires some 28915 or 28915 Beehive spprings along with 787-16 retainers and stock locks that will allow alomost 0.550" lift on a stock Vortec head. Always check retainer to valve seal clearance.
There are other ways to get more lift out of Vortec heads, but dont sink money into stockers, when you can buy new heads that come with screw in studs and better flow for teh same prioce or less from fully work Vortecs.
