on the V6 cars, there's actually a dedundant circuit that uses an oil pressure switch that will power the fuel pump whenever oil pressure is above 4PSI and the relay itself fails.

Pretty sure that's how TBI engines are too. From factory. But this is what most people do with a conversion system. Deleting the oil pressure switch.

The redundant oil pressure switch is also used on V6 / V8 cars and pickups.
