I was looking at a video for MAF tuning using HPtuners and the guy stated to tune the MAF after tuning the VE. So, should I be tuning in SD before MAF?

its doesnt matter
they are independent fueling modes
you tune maf with the maf enabled and sd when its not enabled
if you use a maf, theres no reason to tune speed density on this thing at all as its only for backup if your maf dies
Lt1's uses a belnd of VE and MAF all the time. Set the ve table values to 0 and give that a shot. I bet you wont like it.
Seriously, though, set the VE table in speed density with DFCO, WOT and COT turned off. Drive carefully with small throttle changes. Smooth table and turn MAF back on and run it through a few times, same careful route and throttle operation and then turn it all back on and use wideband for WOT runs.

or, use eehack, and it will filter most of those events, and automatically switch to wideband data (if available) when in open loop or WOT, no need to whip up a special bin just to get good log data.Quote:

Steve o, love the work you've done with eehack. Ive done the set to 0. Car doesnt run worth a shit. Set it to 1. Not much better. Set it to 100 and it feels great but runs rich. These aren't snarky comments from an itg.

WRONG...Atleast on OBD2 Vortec and 0411s the Speed Density and MAF are blended together to form Dynamic air flow rate that your fueling is based off. If the VE table is off your tune will be off.Quote:

I don't necessarily care one way or another, but I can test easily and post back within an hour or two. I just got back from running all the E0 fuel out of my buggy and refilling with some fresh 93 octane E10. She's hot and ready to trot. If this has been tested before I'm the show-me type steveo - was this info posted here? Or was it lost when the site moved?Quote:
