Another Weird $42 .bin file ... what the heck $4A?
I'm helping someone locally with an '88 Suburban, Vortec Heads / RV Cam / 5.7 liter / 700R. So I build a chip, based on the remanufactured 1227747 ECM in the vehicle with AMUR 0055 lable on the chip, and I'm having issues with "Choke" programming.:mad1: So I do some basic troubleshooting, and find the timing is set to 16 degrees BTDC.:yikes: I decided to read the original chip, not expecting to find anything out of the ordinary, and find the Mask ID is $4A and the Initial SA Timing is set to 16.87.:nono: There are other settings that just don't make sense in the .bin I read from the chip also.
I'll reset the timing and see what happens next. Looks like my ride to / from work this week is an '88 Suburban.
