New from Chicago... looking to do a TBI on my 62 Vette

Hi all, just giving a quick intro to me and my reason for stumbling on this site. Decided to list out some fixes and mods I'd like to do to my 62 Vette, and EFI ended up near the top. The car has been in the family since 1969 and I "inherited" it in 1982 at 4 years old when my dad met an untimely death. So I've been driving it since 96 when I got my license, thankfully my mom trusted me to do so at age 16...

So since I want to keep things simple, clean, and relatively hidden under the hood, I think I'm going to drop a TBI under the stock air cleaner. I'm pretty handy under the hood and in the junkyard, so I've been browsing the forums here, learning which years and parts I need to make it happen. Sounds like a 93 Chevy van with a 350 might be the best bet for my 327 conversion? I've still got plenty to learn.

Well, here's a couple pics of my somewhat unique 62 Vette, my dad built this car from 69-82, I guess in the 70's it didn't seem all that crazy to go sorta custom on a C1 Corvette. Old photos are from 1981, newer ones from 2012.

Thanks. Now to just find some time to search through all the info, figure out exactly what I need, and wait for the weather to be just a tad warmer for the junkyard here around Chicago.

I actually have a close friend with an engine machine shop and dyno, I sorta want to do a carb vs. TBI dyno run to see what difference there is, and use the dyno for tuning purposes. I guess I need to see how much hassle it would be to hook up all of the EFI electronics in his dyno room. Probably not worth it.

is your car auto or stick?. Have you done much to the motor?

Its a manual. Not much done to the motor, its a relatively stock 327. Thinking about some upgrades this winter though, maybe step it up to 350 and a better cam. Depends on budget, but luckily I have a close friend with an engine shop.
