ooops .. ok i made a drastic error in that bin ... sorry, log this one just an idle log at least 3mins of CL idle then headlights on idle a few mins... lets get a few bin/logs done today..would like to finaly at least get the preliminaries ironed out..
I'm out now but will try my best a little later.
Started it up, idle'd nice and smooth, coolant temp was a little higher than normal at start up though from this mornings log and then logged closed loop for a bit and headlights on at 154.4 degrees for a few mins as requested.
same quick test log of idle into closed loop then 3mins of idle then quick easy drive log please
Doing the log now. For some reason had a bit of a hard start and a little low idle but then idle'd nice after just a minute.
Lights on at 165.20degrees.
A lot of hesitation, stutter and bogging under load(releasing the clutch, reving fast in neutral and throttle at low rpm in gear) along with a low idle in neutral when releasing the clutch and when coming to a stop. Here is the log:
you now need to adjust your (min idle) iac again.. in a sec i will be back on and review this all further ok
OK, should I do the 30 IAC counts with a fully warmed up engine? Or should I do the other method of closing the IAC fully?
i do it both ways tbh depending on vehicle mods so in your case just doing how you have been and shooting for 20-30 when full warmed is fine. kinda hard for me to judge how to setup your car as im not there to see how it acts setup diff ways but whats working is working so why mess with method..
now a lil quick discussion about the bins and logs..

nothing much to respond to this except sounds good
post#186 about bin3c

yep i still havent got the cold startup figured out exactly yet, that will come next. but can you beter explain "bit of hard start"? i see there was some accelerator involved..but i kinda expect the start to get better once you readjust your min idle/iac at full operating temp again.

ok and now to talk about the latest revisions to this bin..
your idle is smack on at 128 blm/int so were great there atm, so once you readjust your min idle/iac at operating temp and log one more session of cold start and idle we will be able to see just exactly where we stand with the start and idle and if all good or at least close we can proceed onto off idle charicteristics. now atm i can see that your bog and associated problems off idle is because your going rich and your low idle at stop is because when engine decells your getting very lean which we will work on fixing soon. so how were quick little revs in nuetral? were they snappy or just kinda there?
headlights and fan dont seem to be a huge problem as the big drop in voltage is such a quick time then smoothes out but if you look at the logs you can see how better injector numbers would help that be smooth, but ya was never my intention to cure the fan/headlight issues.
also i just gotta ask this..hows it smellin' at warm closed loop idle?
any questions or anything else you want to know?
quick little revs in neutral are not snappy, it usually has a big hesitation and some stutter, slow revs seem ok.
Yeah, the dip in rpm with the fans kicking in doesn't bother me as this isn't a daily driver, just a Sunday cruise car. But I may decide to get those 30lb Bosch 3's soon with voltage offset numbers and maybe that'll help.
wasnt paying to much close attention to the closed loop idle when I was driving and coming to a stop sign because it started raining and I don't take this car out in the rain lol. But during the logging on idle before the drive it seemed pretty good, didn't smell in the car like it used to with the stock bin but will pay closer attention the next log.
"any questions or anything else you want to know?"
Only question right now is: can we get the throttle snaps in nutral nice and smooth and aggressive?
where do we go from here? I adjust the IAC and TPS when warm and then you want another log from a cold start right up to a few minutes after closed loop? And you think we can set the idle to 825 now or not yet?
thanks again.
lets just see what the log looks like after you do your settings and yes cold start would be nice but i'm betting if you havent adjusted the iac yet that you will have to do it tomarrow so i guess whatever temp start you can get will have to do for now and i will just pay attention to the next cold start after that.
but to answer the the throttle snap question yes they will get there soon and in answer to where we are going from here all depends on the next log but my plan is to start into off idle characteristics so i may be asking you to do more specific things with revs and drive logs soon.
remember haste makes waste, baby steps is where its at lol
oh and also yes i will get that idle up a bit soon probably after this next log and be warned that change may make you adjust those settings again lol isnt tuning fun haha
hmm with our past conversation about ethanol content sensors i found this very interesting, who's going to be the first to get one?
May not happen. I've tuned plenty of fast cars that don't sound fast when revved in neutral. The conditions for a good neutral rev vs good acceleration under load are vastly different and the ecm variables do not always allow both conditions tuned properly. Properly tuned, you might always have a slight hesitation if you stab the throttle to 100% from idle.Quote:

Also, trying to get too agressive on acceleration with the miniram can produce popping in the intake.
