I'm doing a LS swap from a 2006 GMC Sierra 1500. The PCM has the 12587811 OS. I want to remove the VAT's and I see there are no xdf for that OS. Is HP tuner my only option?

Or find someone that has that or Tunercat OBD2 to help. (wink) 06 ETC hardware is not compatible with the 04 OS that has xdf support. But just turning off VATS is just the tip of the iceberg as to what needs to be changed to do a swap correctly.

I used the HP Tuner and I was able to remove the VATS. I seen on you tube where someone cloned a PCM when no XDF was available, I think it may have been someone name the Driveway Engineer on You Tube. I didn't want to take a chance and brick my PCM.
For sure, im just trying to avoid buying hptuners, i already bought a obdxpro vt. im just curious why 2xls1 is saying i cant flash a more common 1mb bin and use that - his post is literally the only info I can find on the 04 bins not working for 06. I would like to find the information on that.Quote:
