you can run with map only just unplug the maf and adjust the low octane tables cuz high octane aren't available without the custom OS, run the IAT separate and your good to go.

try this one, i made some changes maybe it will start better also did a few tweaks for performance, still you need to tune for those injectors cuz 24lbs 3bar at 4 bar are more like 28lbs inj etc.
i run kind of the same setup for bench read-writte, but only have check eng light, the obd2 port and the switch as led build in (ON on the ON position).

Pin 32 - Battery Voltage (Constant)
Pin 49 - Ground (Big Black-white wire)...
i can read t42 with out the e38 ECM they just dont show any vin number or vehicle info etc, but the file its readeble and writteable.
Grab any file with 4l80e and use import modules option or segment swap (depending on software you are using) to tranfer the transmision part to your file.
Just disconect the Maf and its should automatically start using the Map.
