Well, I think I found the issue...
While cleaning up the wiring harness and removing the transmission wires and pins, I cut the FWD Low Range Signal wire at pin F8 by mistake...SMH. Anyways, I...
Update: I swapped my PCM into a coworkers truck and it fired right up so the PCM isn't the cause of this issue. I also looked for the pink wire at pin F15 (iirc) that was shown in the wiring diagram...
Is the CEL on the cigarette lighter fuse?
Check engine light does not illuminate when E6 is grounded.
Okay, I'll try that and let ya know the results. Thanks
Oh gotcha, thanks. Yeah both of those circuits have power and all grounds for the PCM are good.
Okay, I'll do that. I'm not sure what circuits 439 and 440 are though...which pins in the PCM connectors do I check for power?
Thanks
I don't have access to the FSM unfortunately. I've also had the 5v bypass wire unhooked since I put everything back together and tried to fire it up.
To recap...
The PCM is not commanding the...
That's true, but if it was a PCM/wiring issue I'd still have spark at least, right?
No it doesn't. I'm goin to have to worry about that later though because I really need to get my truck running again and back on the road.
So it turns out I have no spark as well as no fuel. That pretty much only leaves the pickup coil as the cause of this, which makes no sense since it's brand spankin new. I tested the voltage output...
Okay, so E15 and E16 check within specs for voltage. I ran a jumper wire from E15 to F15 and nothing changed so far as the no start issue was concerned. I'll look over the fuses again...
Uhhh, so I went out and bought a new ICM and installed it and it didn't change anything. The injectors are STILL not firing. I did notice that the SES light does not illuminate with key on, so I was...
Update: I picked up a test light this AM and probed the IC Ref High terminal in the 4 pin dizzy connector with the test light hooked up to 12v and the noid light flashed, so it appears my ICM that I...
Alright, I just got into town tonight and figured I'd post a quick update... I have good continuity between ground and the distributor base and I checked again for DRP at pins A4 & A5 while cranking...
Grounds are good, I did the big 3 upgrade so I have good frame-body, frame-engine, and engine-frame grounds. I didn't remove any wires from the firewall, nor did I touch the starter. PCM grounds...
Well, I was supposed to be back in town today, but my flight was cancelled due to bad weather...gotta love Prudhoe Bay. Okay, to begin with...I did rebuild the dizzy with a new AC Delco pickup coil...
You raise a good point about the crappy design for grounding the ICM. I checked for voltage at pin A5 IC Ref High as jim_in_dorris suggested while my friend cranked the engine over and got no voltage...
Yeah it ran before I swapped the intake, although it did refuse to start the last couple times I attempted to start it before swapping the intake. I can't imagine that wire ran away either, I did...
I shot some starting fluid into the intake manifold and the engine made an attempt to start, well it coughed a little bit at least. Lol
Yeah, I thought that maybe I screwed up wiring the TPS connector, but everything looks fine and tested within normal range.
Alright, I'm going to try to be as detailed as possible...I tested...
Alright, just a quick update: I picked up a noid light at lunch and ran home to check things out...the PCM is not commanding the injectors to fire. I was already pretty positive that was the case,...
I can get a noid light at one of the local parts stores, I'll see about getting one today.
When I jumped the injectors no fuel came out, but there was no pressure in the system when I jumped them....
I'm pretty sure I have a good grasp of how the ignition system works on a TBI system...what am I missing? I know I have a good ignition module and a good pickup coil, what else is there? I'm getting...
I checked pickup coil output before I installed the dizzy so I know I'm getting DRP...I'll see if I can get someone to give me a hand so I can check for spark tomorrow.
I did try two different...
