That's not a bad idea either!
So in a nut shell. He piggy backed all the inputs he needed from the curent ECM to the 7427 and then ran the wiring from there out to the transmission. Then he flashed the 7427 to what ever vehicle...
Good Morning Gents, its been awhile. I was just wondering if anyone knows of a thread dedicated to just using and ECM as a stand alone transmission controller.
Finally a solution!!!! Since i finally noticed the ECM had its own ground for the o2 sensor.
High resistance was the issue. Clipped it at the ECM for now and grounded it back to the block.
No...
Ok Im still getting the code 13.
1) Ive made sure there is no resistance on the wire back to the ecm, even by passed the harness all together
2) Put in a new ECM
3) Added extra grounding...
OK gents, im at my wits end. I still keep getting a Code 13. I have tried to eliminate everything to my ability.
1) no resistance on O2 wire to ECM, even by passed the wiring harness all...
I was able to Fix code 42 and 43. Color blindness error. lol
I'm still getting the Code 13 for the oxygen sensor. I relocated the Oxygen sensor to the bung directly behind the left exhaust...
Ok so all the codes are back, 13, 42, 43. Any suggestions on where to start looking. A buddy suggested the ECM grounds so Im checking those now.
Thanks for the response Lionel. I'm not using tuner software. I just wanted to understand the circuit. I always thought a .5v reference signal was produced by the ECM. It appears that my...
When I turn the key on, O2 connected I get .18 volts. If I unplug the O2 it drops to 0 volts. I back probed the ECM and have the same result.
With the Key on I should be getting .5v from ECM correct? 02 Sensor plugged in or unplugged?
thanks in advance.

Well after a couple of hours of tracing, I finally figured it out. I had the Knock Sensor and TPS wires crossed. Didn't realize until I got back to the ECM under the seat. Swapped the Dark Blues...
ok so I got it to Idle after I replaced the TPS. I also adjusted the valves. The Code 43 for the knock sensor is gone. For some odd ball reason the Code 22 for the TPS low voltage is still there....
Good morning gents. Im in the middle of putting my engine back in. I have a question. Im trying to time my engine and i know my timing is correct, firing order and plug wires correct. I cant get...
I need the number on the case above the pan, see what model it is. Im know expert, but i do know that depending on model. They used different lock-up switches. Dessignated by color. Metalic and...
What transmission is this? Do you have the case number?
in my quest for knowledge, does anyone happen to know what this switch is and how it works on the 700r4/4l60?
NonGrounded Governor Lock-up delay switch
hey your in my neck of the woods:)
I'm not at expert at ECMs and programming, but I have worked in wiring a couple years now. When these guys mention re-pinning you usually see it when upgrading...
All good points, but I'm a poor man. Tuning is way down the road, haha. I'm just swapping. My best bet is to go with what it was stock as far as ECM, ENG, Transmission.
When I do get ready to...
Baby steps. Lol i may get there one day.
I wonder if this is why I hear most folks, even my tranny builder say. "Just wire it up for 4th gear lock-up!" in voice of Karl Childers:)
Most of you probably know this stuff, but here it goes anyway....

So i figured out the ecm today. For some reason in the g20, it dropped the white/black, orange and tan out of from the adl, down below the fuse box. I remember in the junk yard that they ran under...
Yes that is correct. I pulled the pan on the 86 and that how its wired.
Does anyone know how to test a 1 pole pressure switch to see what type it is? Normaly open or Normaly closed?
I suppose if it was known good then a resitance test would work?
