    LT1 detonation knock monitoring

Hey everybody. How can i find out, when knock occurs?
Im trying to use eehack, bun not everything is clear for me.
    Eehack analyzer has knock visualizer.
I tried to use it in realtime, but it shows nothing.
Also there is minimum timestamp setting.
It is 60 by default. What is this setting and how does it work?
When i set to 10 it shows something.
Please explain me, how can i control detonation?
I tune my pcm, timing and so on. And im afraid i will blow my engine. So i need to control it.

there is no realtime feature for that in eehack. everything in the "analyzer" is not "real time". eehack's analyzer is designed for you to drive your car normally for hours or whatever, come home, analyze the logs, and tune.

you find out when knock occurs by the knock count, and the rpm/map where that knock count occurs. when knock is detected, the knock count increases. lots of counts usually mean a larger knock. that's what the knock analyzer is showing you.

the ecm automatically will retard timing when knock occurs.

in the analyzer, the minimum timestamp basically makes it ignore _______ seconds of the log, because knock occurring right after you start your engine probably isn't important. a cold engine can have a lot of mechanical noise that causes false knock.

you shouldn't 'blow your engine' unless you added a really idiotic amount of timing advance. if you're afraid you've done that, take some timing away and then add it back slowly.

eehack really helps, as you can easily just 'add ____ degrees of timing' temporarily to see if it knocks more. if you are experiencing a lot of knock you can just 'remove ____ degrees of timing' and see if it gets better.
