The Moates G1 adapter has been discontinued and will not be replaced. Does anyone have any insight as to why? I fear that every gearhead's favorite 3-letter federal government agency is involved.
Any suggestions or alternatives?

Perhaps this is an alternative

I've done this on my first project before I even knew what a G1 was. Needless to say without a fine tip soldering iron, mine came out horrible but still works.
I was gonna say "I thought someone did have some made up and offered up the extras for sale..." but it wasn't the G1 instead it was the "2-timer." Not very active on this forum but perhaps reach out to him and his source... skent

Here is another option from RedDevil River. Looks just like the G1.

That may work, is is hard to get the chip on and off. The on I have from Moates has a little lever, it is easy to get chip on and off.
there is another one that boostednw.com is making, they are trying to fill the gaps of moates parts... I talked to them one day last week and they said send them any suggestions of what is needed or most sought after right now
Thanks, I'll check them out.
