    How to retard timing?

I have a HP tuned computer (OS 12205612); I have found a XDF file that matches OS 12205612. The guy that programmed for me says he advanced the timing 3 and 4 degrees across the board. I have to run 93 plus octane booster in to keep from holding back. Fuel trims look fine, I don't think fuel is the problem.

All I want to do is retard the timing, so I don't have to mess with the BOOSTANE and MMT from the booster that junks my plugs up after time. I'm not sure how to retard the timing with TunerPro, I'm new at this? Truck has 4.8, 2,500 torque converter, camshaft with bigger injectors. If anybody can help, thanks.

just find your main timing table and subtract 2 degrees? every ecm has a timing table.

the problem is if you have an hptuners tune the thing is probably locked or whatever

how far have you got? have you read the old calibration with pcmhammer or anything yet?

I cloned it, I did do that much. I read and put on file, then flashed to another computer just to see if I could. Put that computer in my truck to see if programmed right, and it ran good. I have that part down, I just have to learn lots more now. lol

Alright, I'll try it. What else I'm having problems with is I downloaded the TunerPro RT and I'm trying to get data log going. Says DA: Not Connected, Not Emulating and Hardware Not Found and Not Ready. Microsoft Bing (I ask it a million questions and is great help) says I need an ADX file. I have searched trying to find an ADX file and all it does is leads me to BIN and XDF files. I have BIN and XDF, so I'm not really understanding the ADX file part. Thanks for the help.

tunerpro isn't what you want for logging
its support for gm ecms made after 1995 is non existent
pcmhammer has a built in datalogger but there are also other options
