There is the option to convert a ‘7730 V6 Memcal to a ‘7730 V8 Memcal.

Modifying the '7730 V6 Memcal for V8 is low cost, simple, and very effective. I've been there, done that, and the results have provided many, many miles of smiles.

Ok have the 7730 ecm with 7165 memcal installed...

I'm pretty sure that won't work.

The '7165 ecm uses a 16k memcal eprom, the '7730 uses a 32k memcal eprom. Completely different instruction set.

Biggest issue is if the hardware is in different locations. '165 code sends a message to injector driver to fire injectors but 730 board says "Nobody at that address."

Biggest issue is if the hardware is in different locations. '165 code sends a message to injector driver to fire injectors but 730 board says "Nobody at that address."

I am using the moats adaptor and burt a base chip using $8D bin, the injectors are firing just won't run. It like the firing rate is off. Cyl select is set for 8

Thanks Dave, this is what I was looking for,I just installed a 3.9 resistor on F9 to ground that pulled the 5vdc on f9 to 2.4vdc and code 43 is gone. Thanks again

I suspect there might be a knock frequency difference between the V6 Memcal Knock Filter board vs. V8 Memcal Knock Filter board.

I use the 1227730 V8 TPI 4K knock sensor after modifying the V6 Memcal for a V8.

I see some clarification might be required when converting a ‘7730 V6 Memcal to V8.
1. Install jumper into '7730 V6 Memcal, no other '7730 V6 Memcal modification needed or required.
2. Install ‘7730 TPI 4K knock sensor into engine block. I use Standard Motor Products knock sensor part number KS6.
3. Connect Knock Sensor connector wiring directly to ‘7730 pin F9.
