What did it come out of?
0x0008 = 49 HEX for the Mask ID if that is the right location of it.

PROM ID references to AFFB, 87 j-body with the turbo 2.0, which matches the B knock filter code.

unfortunately, I don't have any $49 BINs to compare it against.

Is there any harm in putting it in a 1227165 to see what happens? I'm running it on a bench.

it's meant for a 1227749... it will kind of run in a 7165, but I get the feeling it isn't going to act quite how one would expect. I/O is going to be vastly different, so what would have controlled an EGR solenoid on one might be a fan output on another, stuff like that.

Is the 1227749 based on the AFFB? What address is it at? I'm new to these ECMs.

I believe I had a $49 at home. That was the first year turbo Sunbird 7749 code. Then it switched to $58. I'll have to look around later.

You could use the memcal for a 7165 if you remove the knock sensor board and reprogram the chip. You can plug it in to see what happens. Chances are the inputs / outputs will move. Look for the chart that shows inputs/output locations when using a 7730 with $58.
