    1999 5.3L vs 2004 5.3L (L59) PCM differences

Long story short, I have a PCM from a 1999 4.8/5.3 (Red/Blue connectors) and as of tomorrow will instead end up with a 2004 5.3L L59 engine which looks like uses the PCM with Blue/Green connectors. Will the PCM with Red/Blue function ok as long as I use a matching Red/Blue harness to connect to the 2004 5.3L? Reason I ask is I already bought a PCM with VATS deleted etc and a standalone wiring harness for the 1999, of which turned out to be a 4.8L (one of my many lessons learned as a newbie to these modern engines ).

As long as it has a return style fuel system and the same injectors it was calibrated for it will run. That being said the 04 is likely DBW and the 99 DBC.

Ok thanks. Right, I was going to swap just the BDW TB for the DBC TB, but perhaps swapping the complete intake would make most sense at this point? If I didn't have issues with the OBDLink for the bench harness I made, perhaps it wouldn't be as big of a deal.....but for now, am going to assume I won't be able to get my bench harness to work properly before I go to install the engine/transmission.

The bench harness is the same for the blue/red(09-02) and blue/green(03-08)

Thanks. In general, is the Blue connector on both exactly same with only the Red/Green connectors being different? Just curious.
