    Howdy

Hi all, name's Matt. I live in central Arkansas. I have a 1988 C1500 Scottsdale 5.7/700R4 and a 1995 K1500 Silverado 5.7/4L60E. Ended up here from gmt400.com after needing to get some diagnostic help with TunerPro for my 1988. Stays in open loop unless driven really hard, at which time the MIL will eventually go out for a bit before the O2 cools back off. Hoping to figure out what's going on, but I'm now also interested in learning how to make some performance mods for both of my trucks.

Missouri, southern Ozarks here. Welcome. Trouble codes and any other drive symptoms would allow us to help you. Make sure your O2 is working properly would be a fist step.

Hey there! Thanks for the welcome. DTC 13 is what I'm currently fighting. The light comes on once operating temp is reached. If I drive it pretty hard for a minute it'll eventually go off, so my current thinking is the O2 isn't getting to 600 deegrees. Once I ease out of it, it comes back on after a few minutes. I have an ALDL cable coming so will soon be able to have eyes on diag data to hopefully pinpoint what's going on. I just recently bought the truck and it's done this since the first time I've driven it. Previous owner didn't know how long it'd been doing it.

Hi there. I made a trip through LA back in January to visit Baton Rouge. Ate some great food down there!

Could be a defective oxygen sensor, exhaust leaks upstream of the oxygen sensor, thermostat opening at two Low of temperature, or even late ignition timing. Good luck and we are here to help.

I've replaced the O2 and the donut gaskets so far with no change. The left side gasket was completely missing so it was a job needing done regardless of this issue, however I was hoping it would solve it. The temp is running between 190-200 measured at the tstat neck with an IR thermometer.

Thank you. The ALDL cable should be here Friday, so hopefully I'll know more then. Will be sure to keep everyone updated on the resolution.

Hey majack82, I am also new to reading data. I just got my ALDL cable last week and I think I am/was too intimidated by it. I was trying to find .bin and other files that you do not need unless you are writing new programing... maybe that will come later. I just needed to read data to start with.
To read live data in Tuner Pro RT, all you need is to download and save the correct .adx file for your car in your laptop and then tell Tuner pro where it is. Use the Acquisition tab.
Then plug in cable and use the blue arrows button to start to acquire data. Record function is a red button after it starts talking to your laptop. You can look at data later or share with the knowledgeable folks here.
There is a set of you tube videos by Red Devil River that helped a lot.
    Good luck!
