Possible to run a sf512 on a 7747 without soldering anything?

I've been running a 7747 on an AMC360 in a Jeep J10 for 12 years or so. I'm basically just looking to get another ECM but don't wanna solder it.

Did they ever come out with a 'plug and play' way to run a sf512 chip on a 7747?

    I'm unaware of a plug-n-play product for installing the 27SF512 chip into a 1227747.

    Years ago I posted a thread to convert a 1227747 to a 27SF512 chip, soldering required. http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Inj...sion-(27SF512)

    Thanks!

I believe I used this thread as a guide all those years ago. I used to be pretty proficient with dealing with the 7747, but life happened.

I have a message out to the Howell folks to see if they would just sell me a 7747 and put my tune on it. Waiting to hear back.

Who knows, maybe I will dig back into this stuff.

    thanks again!

If Howell is not helpful, send me a PM. I have the tools and parts to get-er-done.

Not sure if this is over kill for you, but this could be an option. Might make life easier in the long run.

AND it gives you larger tables with a faster baud rate, and automatic VE tuning. Even better with a WBO2

It can be done without having to solder to the board. I've done it on about half a dozen 7747s. Just get a sf512 chip holder like Dave w did and solder the jumper wire like he did. I then inserted some of the correct thickness of scrap plastic strip pieces in the board chip holder to push the terminals against the edge of the holder, insert it, then use epoxy (not JB weld or any other that has metal in it) around the outer edge to lock it in place. Still fits under the cover.
