Anybody ever tried a hack to the $OE code to strickly use a wideband?
Mostly curiosity, but it would be better than NB.

doesn't take a whole lot of code to impliment it. a couple hundred bytes used in place of the existing narrowband stuff could use the BLM and INT identically to how it does now. could either emulate the existing method of sending slightly rich and slightly lean constantly to average a target AFR, or just direct to a target AFR and don't attempt to swing around it.
I dare you!

I think the best thing the EFI community could do would be chip in and buy you several cars that don't have $A1 !
Speaking of a nicely commented hack... how many hours/dollars would it take to FIX $EE so it would work? Something comparable to $42 and $0D stuff...

define fix. the level of completeness of $42/$0D? LOT of time....
with the 93-95 P66 V6(think of it as the V6 version of the 94-95 LT1 PCM), i was pretty much on my own hacking that and it took me a good month or so to have anything useful, and about 3 months to get roughly where i am now and i still don't have some of the transmission stuff understood, but otherwise, it's ~95%.
also, i like A1(or at least my version of it). it has it's flaws, but i'm quickly removing them.
Time just to learn is why I never started let alone time to do.
OK so make $A1 work for everything? Wouldn't it be cool to have one mask (lots of bit checks) for all! GM could have saved a fortune with one system... I guess I think small...

essentially what i have in progress.... N/A or boosted, if it makes a 2X/3X/4X signal and uses high impedance injectors, it's pretty much able to be run on a 16149396/nAst1 at the moment. newer trans control is still a work in progress though.... and i'll probably have a 1227730 running only as a trans controller soon. currently can't control any non-E trans with the exception of the 4T60E. with the 1227730 as a TCM.... anything 6 speeds and less should be able to be controlled.
also, it seems that GM eventually moved toward a very small amount of PCMs to cover all applications, something the other major manufacturers did a lot sooner.
Running $0D and already having a WB installed. Having it controll fuel and being able to ditch the NB would be pretty cool. I would be game for it.
