Until my eprom reader shows up, I might have access to one at work. I need to rip the bin from the eprom currently in my truck.
The biggest question at hand is that I am unsure of the timing. But that is not the only confusion. I keep reading various posts about where to set initial distributor timing. Most posts, people state 0 degrees, but then in posts where I have asked this question and the response was that the distributor mechanical setting should match the "Initial Advance" in the ECM prom program.
Now, hopefully, tonight I can rip the bin from the current bin I am running, ACHT, which there is not a bin online for, and see where it is sitting.
The emissions label for the truck I pulled the ECM and TBI system from stated initial mechanical to be set at 10 degrees, but, I'm not sure that the ecm is the matching for that truck.
Anyways, can someone declare for fact that the distributor base timing is supposed to match the bin "Initial Advance" parameter?
On a side note, I noted that the ANFJ bin for the 1228062 ecm shows the Initial Advance at 28 degrees, seems kind of high, but that is what the bin shows, AND, one of the reasons I ask this question.
