Here's the full history of all the cars I've owned....
81 Camaro
90 Beretta GTZ
95 Beretta Z26
80 Camaro Z28
81 Camaro Z28 parts car
91 Beretta "SS"
94 Silverado Z71
94 K3500 parts truck
And helped my old man build his 66 Chevelle and 63 Impala. He's into that Mopar stuff mostly though...
80 Camaro Z28 - 550hp AFR 383 / T56 6spd (Holley HP EFI)
91 Beretta "SS" - 260hp 3400 MPFI / HM282 5spd (7730/$A1) sold! for crazy money...but I miss it
94 Silverado Z71 - 300hp Vortec 357 TBI / NV4500 5spd (7427/$0D) gone but not forgotten
96 Beretta "T56" - 4.8 LS RWD swap / 6spd (0411/2156)
01 Silverado 2500HD - stock Vortec 8.1 / ZF6 6spd (0411/8322)

That car was a lot of fun...but not even close to my new setup with the 3400/5spd. You really had to RPM the Q4 to get any power out of it, and the torque curve on the 3400 is awesome. Plus the high-RPM power is better too. I went from Q4 to 60* and will never look back!

I almost went 3500 when the SPEC Stg2 smoked, but my 3400 is low miles and a "factory freak" compared to times I've seen other runs with them, so I kept it. My last Beretta went 14.9@93 with this same 3400 with just air intake, exhaust & UDP with the stock 4t60e when the other Beretta guys were in the 15.2-15.5 range with similar mods. This fall I went 14.4@92 with 4th gear trouble when I broke my 5spd. I think it will be knocking on the door of 13s with a clean run.
I was 16 when I bought my GTZ, so you can imagine how much time it spent under 4000rpm...not much!

So I got a new (to me) vehicle today...
For free...
The parents-in-law of a friend of mine had trouble with their truck today in my neighbourhood, literally. They live about an hour away and were down here for an auction sale, when the tranny line developed a leak, causing the fluid to evacuate the truck. They pulled over at a highway exit near my place, then limped it down the street until they were at the gas station that is two blocks away. So my friend called me, asking if I could go take a look and see if it's something that could be fixed. It is, just didn't want to do it on the ground in the rain today, they were going to leave the truck to get fixed, then come back for it. They already had their daughter with their new truck on the way down to get the trailer home.
I had to leave in the mean time to take care of a few things, and told them to call me when their daughter got there. When they called, they already had the trucks swapped and asked me if I wanted the truck for parts, I was like "What?" So I went back, and they signed the ownership over to me.
So I need to see what it needs, and decide what to do from there.
Pictures tomorrow, when there's sun light.
BTW, it's a 2000 Chevy Yukon, seems to be quite loaded. Decent shape too.

Yeah, just seems odd, that's all. Definitely didn't expect that, when I woke up this morning. LOL

That's a nice deal. 5.3? They seem to hold up well and they make decent power for the size. Are you likely to keep it? I've had to work on a few of those rigs. Check all the tubing for rust and watch the frame behind the crossmember.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it.
I need to get it to work and on the hoist before anything.
I haven't checked the specifics of it just yet.
Here are a couple pictures:

Nice looking rig! Let me know what you want if you sell it. My kid just totalled out my Buick LT1 Roadmaster...
