Jason New member, thanks for the access to all this knowledge. Just trying to figure out everything from my first LS swap into a 1985 Buick Regal. I look forward to what everyone has to offer.

Glad to see a g body getting some TLC. Got any pictures of it?
No need to re-invent the wheel. But we can make it better
I bought and sold this vehicle within 2 hours then bought it back a month later after the tree fell on it. I couldn't beat the buyback price. Now I'm just trying to straighten out the damage.

ouch!
Glad it has plans and not getting crushed. T tops? Nice
Looks like the body was in good condition.
Hope you do a build thread with it?

Luckily I only have to replace one of the T-tops. The body was in really good condition the interior was excellent minus the two pieces of plastic that got broke. I have a 6 l that's been sitting around for a year. Hopefully within the next week or two I'll fire that up on the engine stand. I figured it'll be the winter project.
Sounds like a good project!
Going stock with the 6.1?
What trans?
No need to re-invent the wheel. But we can make it better
Trans depends on what tune i can find.
From info I have read on here from other swaps and such, I think if you are going obd2, with a p1 or p59 a 4l80 would be the best starting point in my honest opinion. If you are not doing drive by wire, I would personally avoid the p59, they can be used, but you have to get one from a drive by cable application if you are using drive by cable. As drive by wire pcm doesn't have the iac driver hardware.
If going manual, others have had limited success and issues getting it to work, but should still be good

I'm going to try to use the engine I have sitting in the garage. It's from a 2002 Cadillac Escalade 6.0 DBW. I've been looking for a bin file that will match this vehicle with DBW and RWD. I did find a bin file with everything I want except that it's for a 5.3 not a 6.0 I suppose it will work to at least test the engine on the stand. This will be my first LS swap so I guess I'll see how it goes. I'm sure I'll learn a lot in the process. Thanks again for the info.
Should be able to get a 6.0 dbw 4l80 file. I remember seeing on a couple months back.

I'll have to take another look. Thanks
Looks like a few 6.0 80e combos in the 2003 section.
Look at file sizes, 512 is for 0411, 1k is for p59
You can always segment swap desired trans to engine if the both are on same OS.

I'll check it out thanks for the info
